Instead, it promotes a cultural philosophy that is rugged, practical, and reeks of the idea that we must live for today because you may be gone tomorrow. No, really one does not have to love the rodeo. Really.
I once saw Randy Travis at the rodeo at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma and yelled like he was the Beatles or something.
